As a transmission network service provider, under the National Electricity Rules we’re required to prepare a negotiating framework setting out the procedures to be followed in setting up an agreement with a company or an individual wishing to receive a negotiated transmission service.
The negotiating framework details the terms and conditions that have to be met in order for a company to access our transmission service and usually apply to a new wind farm or a new load customer. The provision of negotiated transmission services are subject to lighter regulation than the rules that govern prescribed transmission services.
The proposed negotiating framework for provision of these monopoly services to one or a small number of customers has been approved by the Australian Energy Regulator (AER). All negotiations with applicants for our services will be undertaken in accordance with this framework. The framework will remain in place throughout the transmission pricing determination period from 1 July 2009 to 30 June 2014.
