Building sustainability

Our vision is to be a leader in developing and maintaining sustainable networks. In order to build a sustainable business, we're trying to balance a number of economic, social and environmental objectives. The principles of sustainability have been built into our corporate plan and play an important part in informing our decision-making process.

To support and guide our efforts, we have adopted the Sustainable Practice Framework developed by the Energy Supply Association of Australia (esaa). The esaa framework is closely aligned to international reporting frameworks, enabling us to determine how our performance rates on the world stage on 41 key sustainability indicators.

By measuring our performance on sustainability we can review our results and devise initiatives to maintain or improve our future performance. Where required, our practices are modified to meet sustainability principles.

All employees are encouraged to think about ways we can improve our future performance in sustainability. That means also ensuring the economic sustainability of the business by delivering our services to customers in the most cost-effective way.
